Congratulations to
Sam Hauck and Cindy Brochman
for their performances at the
Buffalo Triathlon held
Sunday June 1st in Buffalo, MN.

RESULTS
The Buffalo Triathlon, the largest and
most competitive event in the
Tri
Minnesota Series
, drew 1500
participants on June 1 and records fell
like dandruff from a perennially
unwashed scalp. Australian distance
superstar Chris Legh won for the third
time in a race best 1:50:50. For
women's champ Kate McCann, a 2007
Most Improved nominee, it was her
3rd career win and easy the biggest
triumph to date.
Sam Hauck's amateur win was aided
by Curt Wood's collapse from heat
exhaustion near the finish line. Wood
was within 30 meters of the line when
he went down. Several efforts to
stand failed, and he finally rolled
across the finish line. During this
ordeal, which lasted an excruciating
30-40 seconds, Sam was able to pass
and claim a five second victory over
Wood. Both men finished well under
the amateur best set by Eike Mrosek
in 2005.
